Deploy Software Agents on Workloads

This chapter describes the deployment and management of Cisco Secure Workload software agents on various operating systems and environments, such as Linux, Windows, Kubernetes, and AIX. These agents are integral for collecting host information, monitoring network flows, enforcing security policies, and ensuring system compliance with security standards. The document outlines the prerequisites and supported methods for deploying software agents across different platforms, agent management, including service management commands for different operating systems and procedures for upgrading and removing agents. It also explains the rehoming process, which allows agents to be moved between SaaS and on-premises environments.

The chapter covers advanced functionalities of enforcement alerts and sensor alerts, which notify users of discrepancies in policy enforcement and agent health. To facilitate a detailed understanding, the document offers examples and troubleshooting scenarios, such as handling SSL/TLS connectivity issues and resolving certificate problems that might arise during agent operations.
