Configure the VNI

Add a VNI, associate it with (VTEP) source interface, and configure basic interface parameters.

Procedure

1

Choose Devices > Device Management.

2

Click Edit (edit icon) next to the device on which you want to configure Geneve.

3

Click Interfaces.

4

Click Add Interfaces, and then choose VNI Interface.

5

In the Name and Description fields, provide relevant information.

6

In the VNI ID field, enter a value between 1 and 10000.

This ID is only an internal interface identifier.

7

Check the Enable Proxy check box.

When the AWS proxy is enabled on the VNI interface of your device, configuring NAT is not allowed.

This option enables single-arm proxy, and allows traffic to exit the same interface it entered (U-turn traffic). If you later edit the interface, you cannot disable single-arm proxy. To do that, you need to delete the existing interface and create a new VNI interface.

This option is only available for a Geneve VTEP.

8

Select NVE Mapped to VTEP Interface.

This option associates this interface with the VTEP source interface.

9

Click OK.

10

Click Save.

What to do next

Configure the routed interface parameters. See Configure Routed Mode Interfaces.
