Overview of Subscription Process

When you purchase a new subscription from Cisco, a welcome email with the subscription claim code is automatically sent to the Provisioning Contact specified during the purchasing process. If you included the End Customer contact during the purchase, that person also receives a copy of the initial welcome email.. The welcome email is sent on the requested start date of the subscription.

For Enterprise Agreement subscriptions, the welcome email and claim code are sent when the first request is made within the Enterprise Agreement Workspace (EAWS), not on the requested subscription start date.. The welcome email and claim code for Enterprise Agreement are sent to the technical contact who makes the request within the EAWS.

A Security Cloud Controlorganization administrator uses the Claim subscription (1) option to claim the subscription for the current organization.

After a subscription is claimed, its products are listed in the Product and service activation status section, with their corresponding start dates (2). The organization administrator clicks Action required (3) to activate the product. Activated products are listed in the Products section (4).

Here is the Overview page of the enterprise. It provides options to claim a subscription, activate the products, and display the activated product details.

An organization supports only one active instance of a product. See Single Product Instance in an Organization.

For each activated product, the product subscription details are displayed as a separate tile.

Trial products display a label. Externally managed product instances that have been attached to Security Cloud also display an label.

  • If there are any modifications to your subscription, such as changes to a product, tier, quantity, or the addition of a shared add-on, within the same subscription, such changes are automatically processed and updated in your active product instance. The administrator and all contacts that are specified during the purchase process receive email notifications about subscription updates.

  • If you have purchased Firewall in Security Cloud Control but do not yet have your subscription code, and your new organization has been created, enable the Firewall application by navigating Platform Management > Product Subscriptions > Subscriptions and in the banner that appears on the Subscriptions page, click Enable Firewall now.
