Application Discovery

Application Discovery, also known as AI Access, is a Cisco integrated solution that provides visibility, control, and protection for users interacting with third-party large language models (LLMs) and AI applications. It helps discover and manage shadow AI usage and enforces security guardrails against data leakage, prompt injection, and harmful content. AI Access is part of Cisco Secure Access, a security service edge (SSE) solution grounded in Zero Trust principles.

The Application Discovery tab shows employee usage of generative AI applications. This dashboard relies on Cisco Secure Access to scan for AI application use. To use Application Discovery, you must:

• Set up the Cisco Secure Access-AI Defense integration as shown in Secure Access Integration.

• Add at least one AI Guardrails Rule in your Data Loss Prevention Policy in Secure Access. Optionally, you can customize your AI Guardrails Data Classifications.
