Discover and Manage Assets

Discover Assets

To begin Asset discovery, you must first connect AI Defense to Cisco Multicloud Defense. Once connected, AI Defense will:

  1. Scan your environment for AI models, agents, and knowledge bases.

  2. Display discovered assets in the Assets: Cloud Visibility tab.

  3. Allow vulnerability testing of discovered models in the Validation tab.

Assets Page Overview

The Assets page offers two primary features:

Cloud Visibility

Provides an overview of AI-related activities and assets within your cloud infrastructure. This feature helps organizations monitor usage patterns, identify potential risks, and assess compliance status while tracking hosting regions and VPC instances.

Cloud Visibility Features:

  • Discovered Assets: Displays a count of the detected AI models, agents, and knowledge bases.

  • Assets Table: Lists discovered Assets with key details:

    • Asset Name: A clickable link to the asset's details page.

    • Asset Type: Categorizes assets (e.g., Custom Model, Foundation Model).

    • Discovered Date: The date when the asset was first identified.

    • Regions: The cloud region hosting the asset.

    • Last Validation: Timestamp of the most recent validation test.

    • Action: Options to initiate or re-run validation tests.

To perform a new validation scan for an asset, click the Validate link under action for that asset.

External Assets

External Assets tracks third-party AI resources, such as generative AI applications and external knowledge bases, ensuring security and risk mitigation.

External Assets Features:

  • Visibility into third-party AI dependencies: Tracks AI models that operate outside the organization's cloud infrastructure.

  • Traffic detection to third-party models: Identifies network activity to external AI services.

The Instances connecting to External Assets table provides:

  • External asset FQDN: An External Asset FQDN is the fully qualified domain name of a third-party AI resource interacting with your cloud environment.

  • Destination Country: The country where the external AI resource or service is hosted.

  • Number of Events: The total count of interactions or connections detected between your cloud environment and an external Asset.

Enable asset discovery in AI Defense

To set up Assets detection so that you can discover Assets being hosted or invoked in your cloud accounts, you must first configure a Multicloud Defense tenant for use by AI Defense. See AI Defense-Multicloud Defense Integration for instructions.
