Before you begin

    Make sure your Smart Licensing account contains the available licenses you\r\n\t\t\t\t\t\tneed.

    \r\n

    When you bought your device from Cisco or a reseller, your licenses should have been linked\r\n\t\t\t\t\t\tto your Smart Account. However, if you need to add licenses yourself, see\r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t Cisco Commerce Workspace.

    Ensure that the Cloud-Delivered\r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tFirewall Management Center can reach the Smart Software Manager at smartreceiver.cisco.com.

    Configure NTP. During registration, a key exchange occurs between the Smart Agent and the Smart Software Manager, so time must be in sync for proper registration.

    \r\n

    For the Firepower 4100/9300, configure NTP on the\r\n\t\t\t\t\t\tchassis using the same NTP server as the Cloud-Delivered\r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tFirewall Management Center.

    If your organization has multiple Cloud-Delivered\r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tFirewall Management Centers, make sure each one has a unique name that clearly identifies and\r\n\t\t\t\t\t\tdistinguishes it from others that may be registered to the same virtual\r\n\t\t\t\t\t\taccount. This name is critical for managing your Smart License entitlements\r\n\t\t\t\t\t\tand ambiguous names will lead to problems later.

In the Smart Software Manager, request and copy a registration token for\r\n\t\t\t\t\tthe virtual account to which you want to add this device.

      \r\nAllow export-controlled functionality on the\r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tproducts registered with this token—Enables\r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tthe export-compliance flag if you are in a country that\r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tallows for strong encryption. You must select this option\r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tnow if you plan to use this functionality. If you enable\r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tthis functionality later, you will need to re-register your\r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tdevice with a new product key and reload the device. If you\r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tdo not see this option, your account does not support\r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\texport-controlled functionality.

    The token is added to your inventory.

    Click the arrow icon to the right of the token to open the\r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tToken dialog box so you can copy the token ID\r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\tto your clipboard. Keep this token ready for later in the procedure when\r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\tyou need to register the Firewall Threat Defense.

In the Cloud-Delivered\r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tFirewall Management Center, choose System (\"system)\r\n > Licenses > Smart Licenses.

Click Register.

Paste the token you generated from Smart Software Manager into the Product Instance Registration Token field.

Make sure there are no empty spaces or blank lines at the beginning or end of the text.
